Music…certainly one of the most universal languages, holds the power to stir our souls beyond imagination.  Love…the language of the gospel, spills over from our worship to our hearts and our daily living.  So the intertwining of the two, harmony and the words of our faith, creates a unique and Spirit-filled ministry from which we can at all times and in all places, “Sing and make music in our hearts to the Lord.”  Ephesians 5:19

 

One evening, while lingering with me in the sanctuary following an organ practice session and a choir rehearsal, our nine-year-old son queried of this ministry, “Mom, so is it like being a preacher?  And when you play and sing, you make the music from your heart?”  Yes, Bryce – from your heart to God…and back again...and all the people sang, Amen!

 

 

 

 

Cindy Lind Hanson , a Jamestown native, graduated from Jamestown High School and Colgate University.  After being assistant to the Minister of Music at First Presbyterian for two years she served as Minister of Music at Immanuel Lutheran Church for nine years, returning to First Presbyterian Church in 1997.  Cindy and her husband, Mark, have three children, Tyler (16), Bryce (12), and Kirstie (7), and they are all delighted to be a part of the life and journey of this congregation.
