Through my intellectual and spiritual pursuits; my experiences growing up in Montgomery and Selma, Alabama during the 1960's; living and working in the frozen tundra of Alaska; and my travels through Israel in 1982 during the Lebanese War; I came to know and embrace the theological and philosophical teachings and writings of Martin Luther King Jr. and M.K. Gandhi.

Two of my favorite quotes are:

"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about the things that matter." Martin Luther King Jr.
                                              and
"We must be the change we wish to see." M.K. Gandhi

Every person must decide for themselves whether they will walk in the light of creative altruism or the darkness of destructive selfishness.
