                                                                      A Stephen Minister Church

St. Francis of Assisi is reputed to have said, "Preach the gospel; if necessary, use words."  We still use words at First Presbyterian to proclaim the gospel.  But not exclusively.  Music touches some souls in ways words cannot, especially the music offered here.  So, too, occasional videobytes, liturgical dance, and drama.  But, these forms of gospel expression are harder to convey via the internet than words.  So, you get words of sermons meant more to be heard than read.  We trust the Spirit to make them come alive for you anyway.  We believe that good preaching, by the way, prompts conversations - within one's own life, with other hearers, with the Spirit of God, with the preacher, with theological traditions.  If you would like to continue a "conversation" with a sermon and include the preacher in that conversation, simply e-mail the preacher of a particular sermon with a question, comment, or point of view and we shall respond.
