OUR MISSION

Our mission is clear: To love God, love one another, and love the world.

We embody the teachings of Jesus Christ by putting our faith into action through service, outreach and worship. We believe in the power of love to transform lives and to create positive change in our local and global communities. We welcome everyone, regardless of background or belief, to join us in our mission of spreading love and kindness in the world. In all that we do, we strive to live out this mission with humility, grace, and a deep sense of gratitude for the love that God has shown us.

OUR MINISTER OF MUSIC

David Horne

David Horne, Minister of Music

After 22 years teaching choral music and playing the organ for Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts, David came to Western New York in 2018 to become caregiver to his father, the Rev. Dr. Nelson “Bud” Horne. He has served as Organist and/or Choir Director for eight different congregations over a period of 48 years before coming to First Presbyterian of Jamestown. In his musical career he has worked as choral director, music instructor, accompanist, conductor, dramatic musical and stage director, violinist, organist and composer. All his musical experiences converge in his work at First Presbyterian in a diverse ministry that serves multiple generations and embraces a wide variety of genres and styles.

OUR STAFF

SESSION MEMBERS

Our Elders are those who are called to “serve” the congregation and, with the minister, lead and govern the church as the Session. Elders attend to all the needs of a congregation—its worship, fellowship, mission, providing opportunities for spiritual growth and learning, taking care of the property and finances… in other words, seeing to the total care and keeping of the life of the congregation. Elders are elected by the congregation for a 2-year term.
